The Abscent Papillon
I started school in the evenings this week. Very excited about my class - however I am trying to cope with the whole working all day and school in the evening/studying/getting back into the groove of things. It makes for a long day..however I have some great stories to share from the pharmacy world and school that I will be sure to post. All I have to say - people never cease to amaze me.

Weekend Highlights
Well I think I can finally say that I have come a bit addicted to this blogging world - it is my new facebook. I am suppose to be cleaning my room this morning and well I have cleaned off my entire desk but the piles of clothes can wait.
Friday night the roomie and I went to the YMCA for a little workout action followed by some yummy spaghetti that the bf cooked for us when we got home. We watched some TV and headed off to bed rather early for a Friday night.
Saturday morning we were up bright and early for the RACE FOR THE CURE. It was soo much fun. It was amazing seeing all the people walking or running for breast cancer. It was a very humbling experience to be apart of something that big. There were over 25,000 people there! I must say it was very cool to run down the middle of Hillsbourgh Street, Dixie, etc.
Saturday evening we were invited to Barefoot in the Park s house for a couples evening filled with yummy food and games. It was a great way to spend the evening after an early morning. It was a ton of fun getting to hangout with other couples.
Sunday was cleaning day ... I am trying to get myself ready for school - classes begin Thursday evening. It is going to be an adjustment working all day and class in the evening..thankfully it is only one day a week! Sunday ended with some yummy sushi and relaxation in front of the TV.

Must Rent!
After catching up with my girlfriend Laura last night she recommended that I rent this movie:

So the bf and i rented it tonight and its amazing! It is an awesome documentary about the Lost Boys of Sudan and their journey to freedom. That is the super readers digest version - but you must rent. It got a bunch of awards at the Sundance Festival and Nicole Kidman narrates the documentary.
Race for the Cure

I have been trying to get in shape since January and have picked up running to try and shed some pounds. Im a terrible runner - my pace is awful - but I decided to enter the Race for the Cure. This Saturday the bf, the roomies, and the roomie's bf are all running. Needless to say Im most likely going to be the last of the group to finish but heck at least Im out there, right? haha Is anyone else running this Saturday?

The Goose and the Bug
Lucy the Goose had her first interaction with a stinging bug of some kind yesterday. She is obsessed with chasing anything that flies, buzzes, or hisses. However she found out what they can do to her because she got stung! We have no idea by what - but her whole lip swelled up as did her nose and around her eye. She was miserable. I was up all night with her because she could not get comfortable and kept whining. This morning the swelling finally started going down...and she is back to acting like herself. However Mommy is dragging her feet - thank goodness for Starbucks!

Recovering ....
Last night the bf and i went to see jimmy buffett and it was AMAZING! We had a blast...even if it was 100 degrees outside. (seriously it was over a 100 yesterday) Anyways we found a spot in the shade, starting drinking some cornoas and enjoying the scene around us. One of our fellow parrott heads actually brought their pontoon boat with them to the concert and were partying on the boat in the parking lot. It was hysterical..I ve never seen tailgating taken to this level. Other people had pools and blow up palm trees. It was awesome.
Today has been a bit less productive then I had hoped - but I did manage to give the Goose and Daisy (the bf's family dog who we were watching for the weekend) a bath today and we took them to petsmart for a nail trimming. Now do not judge about paying someone to cut my dogs nails - I worked at a vet when I was in highschool and have done my fair share of nail clippings but I can not stand quicking a dog. Therefore I gladly give that pleasure to someone else to do. Twelve dollars well spent.

Greetings Friends!
Okay so whats been new with me ....
Well for starters I had an amazing birthday! The bf planned a SUPRISED birthday - I was floored. Had no idea and now that its a month later I still cant believe it. My older brother from Charleston and his girlfriend even came into town. It was a great evening spent with friends! I couldnt have asked for a better way to turn 24!
Memorial Day weekend the group headed up to Tylersville,PA...which is in the middle of nowhere USA! No cell phones, one bathroom, 14 people, lots of love and wine. We all had a great time. I got to sport my new rainboots from JCREW while I played in the creek.
Last weekend the bf and I decicded to head out of town on weekend getaway. We realized that every time we go out town it always to go visit never just to get away. Soo...for the first time I think ever in 3 years we went on a little vacay. We headed off Saturday morning to Morehead City ... stopped in Atlantic Beach (picked up a great new collar for ms Lucy!)..had lunch in Beaufort at Clawsons and hopped on the ferry to Ocracoke Island! We had never been and it was sooo much fun. As soon as I can figure out how to post some pictures I will be sure to do so. We found a great little place to stay - it had a hammock on the front porch that overlooked the sound. Sunday morning we got up and explored the island. We went to the beach, the lighthouse, grabbed some great food, and rode bikes around the island. Then we headed off to Hatteras for dinner (catching yet another ferrry!) Dinner was wonderful - great seafood. On Monday morning we packed up our stuff and headed back to Hatteras to see the lighthouse! We climbed all 200-something of the steps to the top and view was amazing. After checking out the view it was back to the car to our next stop...Bodie Island. It was the last lighthouse on our list and I must say my favorite.
